yes It is, plus i use another 1 tb sshd on a usb since i had run out of sata ports my m.2 actually shuts down sata port 1 when installed. I have this habit of never throwing away old hard drives and I also tend to salvage any parts I can from laptops and computers I see being tossed out. It's a good way to get simple upgrades and a good way to save some money and build up spare parts. Wireless cards, HD's, power supplies, card readers, USB port connectors and wiring which is super handy and lately lots of SODIMM ram are easy to get this way. Part salvaging is a great way to bring the cost down and beef up any build.

Yeah i can see that there is a lot pf drives installed. How you storage space do have in total?

lmao, funny you mention that. It used to have one. Now I have to find another to fit it. A year ago we were prepping to sell our home. We had a surprise viewing and I was putting some stuff together and had the panel off. I didn't want the strangers to see what I had inside so I quickly put the glass panel on. I must have had a minor misalignment while thumb screwing it back on. I stepped away for just a moment and it violently shattered all over my desk and onto my laptop and onto the floor. Needless to say I now am looking for glass replacement.

We have a cricut machine so I am thinking of getting some tinted glass and doing some acid etching on it and doing some vinyl stencils. If anyone knows where to GET replacement glass for these kinds of thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .


Amateur build tip. Make sure that plastic grommets are are sitting properly in the holes of your glass panels. Metal and glass don't mix well if there is any sort of pressure on the edges of the panels. Since they are made of safety glass there is so much tension purposely added while tempering, it acts like an explosive pane of glass and releases all its energy all at once. That is not to say it isn't awesome. But it is messy and annoying if you didn't do it on purpose.

Was it tempered glass panel? I have only used acrylic one's. I can't even clean my side panel! It gets so much scratches even if i touch it

Thanks man i could use this because I'm planning to make a custom glass side panel for my case sometime in the future as the current one is acrylic.
