Question Seeking Advice on Optimizing SEO for an Image-Focused Website

Hello everyone,

I’m currently developing a website primarily focused on sharing images (e.g., good night images, cute animal pictures, etc.). I would like to ask for advice on how to optimize SEO for this type of content so that my site can rank higher on Google and attract more organic traffic.

So far, I’ve implemented some basic steps:

  • Naming files with keywords: Ensuring that image file names contain relevant keywords.
  • Adding Alt text: Writing concise but descriptive Alt text for each image.
  • Optimizing image sizes: Reducing file sizes without losing quality to improve page load speed.
However, I still feel like I’m not achieving the desired results. I would love advice on:

  1. Writing effective Alt text for each image to improve ranking without keyword stuffing.
  2. Other image optimization techniques that are helpful, especially when dealing with a large volume of images.
  3. How to improve visibility on Google Images and manage content for a site that primarily targets image-based traffic.
  4. Recommended tools to assess and enhance image SEO quickly and accurately.
I’d appreciate any experiences and insights from those who have worked with image SEO. Thank you very much!

I'd say that one good move is using structured data like ImageObject schema. It helps search engines better understand your images, boosting their chances of appearing in Google Images.
Don’t overlook creating an image sitemap. It helps search engines crawl and index your images more efficiently, especially when dealing with a large collection. Tools like Internal link builder : Create the best internal linking structure for WordPress SEO Links - CrawlSpider can help streamline these tasks and identify areas for improvement in your image SEO setup.
