Windows Game Spiderman2(Old windows version) not working

Last week I downloaded the old spider man 2 game that used to work quite perfectly in my Windows XP but now its showing LockRect failed and device lost errors. Screenshot included. I tried changing the compatability mode to XP. But it still shows the same error. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

Is this a fresh installation of Windows? Windows 10 is less compatible with older games. Also you can try installing Direct X i think sometimes this can solve.

He has installed direct x. He can play battle field 3.

No.. but now i have an idea.. What about using virtualbox with Windows XP!
