I’m planning to build an entry level server for developing Android Custom ROMs. I’m not sure If I’m oversharing but, I’m 16 and we don’t currently have the kind of budget to get a good PC, I’m planning to negotiate a bit at my house (finances are kinda tight rn) and try to get a build under INR 20K using second hand parts.
As per the AOSP requirements, I’ll need a minimum of:
- 24 to 32GB RAM (DDR4 preferred)
- a 1TB HDD or a faster but relatively cheaper SSD.
- (And here I want the maximum money to be spent) A nice processor with as high of a core count as possbile.
- A basic GPU just enough to get display output since the CPU most likely would lack a iGPU
- a power supply and some cheap casing.
If you’re into my lore - I’m planning to make a tech start up as I grow, I plan to make a nice custom ROM to solve all pain points I find and to provide a smooth experience, once the ROM is stable on a couple of devices, I have plans for the hardware too, I got mockups, 3d files, etc. I’m sorry if I’m late to respond rn as I’m giving my 10th Board Exams.
