I was trying to play a movie that was encoded in HEVC codec (H265) in Windows 10 Films and TV app then it showed me to buy an app from Microsoft App Store.

When it clicked the NOT NOW button, it gave this error.
Missing codec This item was encoded in a format that’s not supported.

Okay, I fixed it! Either you will have to buy the paid app or install the free “HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer” from Microsoft Store, but that is not available now. So I searched and found the installable package and ill leave it here for anyone who faces this issue. Enjoy
Btw VLC does support HEVC codecs.
