Will Intel i7-7740K and i5-7640K defeat AMD RYZEN

Yes, Intel seems to be a bit concerned about RYZEN launch and so they are working on new i5 and i7 CPUs based on kabylake architecture. And the company is so confident that they can tackle AMD RYZEN chips. The new CPUs are i5-7640K and i7-7740K.

For the i7-7740K the clock speeds are rated 4.3 GHz base and probably boost beyond 4.5 GHz boost. The processor packs 8 MB of L3 cache and has a TDP of 100W. There’s no word on the retail price but it should be a bit higher or if Intel does feel like offering real competition to the Ryzen chips, they could price it the same as Core i7-7700K while dropping the former in price.

For the i5-7640k, the clock speeds are rated 4.0 GHz base and boost beyond 4.2 GHz. The processor should pack 8 MB of L3 cache if the hyper-threaded talk is true about it. The TDP will be rated at 100W, just like the Core i7 processor.

New CPUs already? What will be the pricing for older Kabylake models?

Intel needs to stay undefeated so they are struggling now as they are not fully sure what AMD is gonna do with RYZEN. If AMD finds success then Intel will have to reduce the price of their CPUs.
