Does anyone really notice a difference when it gets higher than 144hz and if so dose it really matter while playing a game?
Yeah it does when make a difference when playing games like CSGO. It does makes a difference that’s why Asus made a 360Hz monitor.
I think that coming from 60 FPS to 144 FPS is a huge difference! Anything over 144 FPS isnt a big difference but makes the games looks more smoother.
over 144Hz is not a big difference but it might improve frametimes.

For the average consumer, no, those extra 100 FPS aren’t going to make you a better player or have more joy in the game. .
Yes- if you have experienced higher framerates.
NO- If you havent experienced higher framerates.
Higher framerates generally costs you the display quality. Please see the display in person and then buy.

This is actually true. Some panels are even overclocked and sold. For those panels, the image becomes much much softer than the lower framerate output

Yes, If you run a game at 60 fps on a 144hz monitor it won’t feel smoother than games running at 60fps on a 60hz monitor. So 144hz will not be beneficial in games if you don’t have capable hardware to deliver those levels of frame rates.
Of course, it is!! Also, there are many high refresh rate monitors which will help you to improve your performance. And a game like valorant, it’s really effective.
I have monitor with 240 Hz but didn’t find any major difference. Instead of getting over 144hz improve in resolution to 2k
