My future budget build: Here are the specs!

Here’s your formatted text without BB code:

I’m looking for some hardware for my new budget productivity PC build. Here is the list of hardware I’m going to use:

  • Case: Thermaltake Versa N21
  • Power Supply: Corsair VS Series VS550
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-6402P (I would use AMD if it supported DDR4 RAM.)
  • Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming M3 DDR4
  • RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2400MHz
  • Case Fan: Circle Stay Cool CG-12 120MM Red LED
  • Storage: Samsung 750 EVO 120GB SSD
  • Graphics Card: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB

So what do you think about this build? What can I change?

My main need is expandability! So I’ll buy good CPU and mobo now

Latest tech maybe!

Try to get a 1050 or 1050ti cuz normally u get a good gpu and that 750 is quite old

I’ll start from the PSU or case! I’ll buy parts one by one so maybe by that time Zen will be launched!

Yeah i dropped this plan. Now I’ll either use 7700K or RYZEN 1700X.

Maybe…

Excellent idea, those new Ryzen CPUs have a lot of processing power for the price. I’m on an old i7-2700k (still quite a good CPU really), but I think my next build will probably have a Ryzen in there, they’re just so much cheaper.

Yup, Im saving for my RYZEN build!

Great idea. Ryzen is cost effective

Do you know which one you’re choosing? I was gonna wait for the new Ryzen 9, but it looks like they’ll be expensive, so I think I’ll go with a 1600x
