I’ve been having this really annoying issue with my MacBook. Whenever it wakes up after a few hours, either my Bluetooth mouse or keyboard won’t connect. The only way to fix it is to remove the device from Bluetooth settings and pair it again or restart the laptop.
The accessories aren’t the problem since they work fine with other (non-Apple) devices. Also, this happens on both my MacBook Air M3 13-inch and 15-inch, so it’s not just one device.
Has anyone else faced this? Any fixes or workarounds? Would really appreciate any help!
If you’re still struggling with Bluetooth devices not reconnecting after sleep, I came across a potential fix that might help!
Some users have found that toggling Bluetooth off and on can temporarily solve the issue, and this can even be automated. Previously, apps like BetterTouchTool (BTT) could handle this, but recent macOS updates seem to have broken its ability to turn Bluetooth back on reliably.
A better alternative is BlueSnooze – an open-source, free app that uses a third-party API to toggle Bluetooth on and off when your Mac sleeps and wakes. It works reliably on macOS Ventura and Sonoma (I haven’t tested other versions).
Run the app and click the BlueSnooze icon in the menu bar.
Select “Launch at Login” to ensure it works automatically.
Now, your Magic Mouse, Keyboard, or other Bluetooth devices should reconnect properly after sleep! The only downside is that this method disables Apple Watch auto-unlock, which the developer has acknowledged.

This worked for me but this was a short term solution as I had to do this everything my mac wakes up after some hours.
This one worked like butter, but even though there was an option in the app for launch at login, it often failed to do so, so I had to manually add it login apps list in mac settings. Now it’s perfect! Thanks, @Nunnya for sharing this.
